Live Operational Digital Twin
People ask for one. This is what it would actually require — 9 conditions, each with the test that would show it met, and the reason SPEQ will not use the words until they all are.
Every value on this page is synthetic and nothing is connected to anything. Of the four rungs on the ladder from reference model to twin, 1 is built, 1 is contract-gated and the top 2 do not exist. The words matter: digital twin, live and real-time are all marked do-not-say, and the study is explicit that this is a rule rather than a preference — live because not every value is real, real-time because it would imply a latency guarantee nobody has specified, tested or agreed. The prototype screens exist to test one thing: whether staleness can be made legible without clutter. They show a conductivity reading that is thirty-five minutes old, next to the adapter that stopped thirty-five minutes ago, because the failure mode of a live view is a value that looks current and is not. Asked whether anything here can support a release decision, the answer is no, on every screen. What SPEQ does offer today is the interactive reference facility and the organization-specific facility model — structure, not state.
The naming decision
Four rungs, of which two exist. The words matter more than usual here: each rung is a different claim about what SPEQ knows, and the top one is a claim SPEQ cannot make.
A semantic model of a generic site at four fidelity levels. Synthetic throughout. Knows what a room is for, not what is in it.
The same model mapped onto one customer's real site, maintained by agreement, with evidence references into their systems. Structure, not state.
Real-time operational data rendered spatially. Technically ordinary; regulated only in what decisions it invites.
A governed, validated reflection of a real facility whose state can be relied on. None of the conditions for this are currently met.

- Not while every value is synthetic. The word does specific work and cannot be borrowed.
- Real-time
- Would imply a latency guarantee nobody has specified, tested or agreed.
- Reference model
- Accurate, modest, and what the thing actually is.
- Semantic facility model
- Precise about what it knows: named objects and their relationships.
- Organisation-specific model
- Correct for the organization-specific facility model. Structure mapped to a real site, maintained by agreement.
